This portal focuses on three principal components relating to the ecological sustainability of aspen (Populus tremuloides) communities: (1) distribution and assessment, (2) treatment prescriptions, and (3) monitoring management practices.

All three sections focus on the tools available for making sound ecological management decisions. The portal’s objectives are (1) to identify field tested protocols and model management documents, (2) to clarify agency’s standards and guidelines, (3) to provide a data base for tracking the history of significant aspen management activities in North America, and (4) to provide an opportunity to submit information to be included in the three sections.
