Abstract |

Last year's snowmelt shot through Cassia County like it was in a flume, without pausing to filter down to the aquifer to provide water for the dry months.
To slow future runoff and store the water, a new coalition is looking to the natural way: beaver dams.
"Beaver do better work than the Corps of Engineers," said Mike Todd, regional wildlife habitat biologist with the Magic Valley Region of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
